There’s a life waiting to be lived… Yours!

Some rules weren’t made to follow

I stumbled upon (no not the social voting site, something I actually stumbled upon) this great article on facebook.  An old acquaintance/contact of mine in the entertainment business posted it.  Its about a writer who takes a job at Miramax’s front desk to make money to pay the bills while remaining a struggling writer.  Not really being the type to take guff from people he finds himself setting the elite straight be telling them where they can stick their requests.  When one demands to talk to his “boss” he, being the writer as mentioned before, ends up creating a boss he would really like to work for…one things leads to another and eventually he finds himself creating an “assistant” for that boss and so on and so on.  Eventually his ruse is discovered and unlike what we would expect, some very wise executives at Miramax (it is a creative industry after all) realize this guy is a genius and help him land an agent.

Read it and enjoy it!  I’m not suggesting that you go to the lenghts that Mr. Pullano did, but I am however inspired by his chutzpah (gumption for those of you who don’t know yiddish) and willingness to keep his creativity alive at all costs, even in the midst of corporate constraint.

Go ahead — if inspired — dare to create your own path even among already laid paths – its always more interesting.
